Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Fayette County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search feature constitutes agreement with the terms below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not affiliated with government and is not a consumer reporting agency. Neither it nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant screening, or another use regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

1. What This Website Is

Fayette County Criminal History is an independent reference resource. It does not hold government criminal records, run official checks, retrieve files, or submit paperwork. Its role is to identify official custodians such as Fayette County Clerk of Courts, the Sheriff and Jail, Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository, and Pennsylvania Sexual Offender Registry, and to provide links to outside tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Every visitor agrees not to:

  • Use the website in violation of federal, Pennsylvania, or local law
  • Stalk, threaten, intimidate, or harass another person
  • Use content for a credit, employment, insurance, or housing decision
  • Enter systems or data without authorization
  • Operate bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools against the pages
  • Interfere with the website or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked service may not be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. Pennsylvania Sexual Offender Registry information exists for public protection. It must not support vigilantism or unlawful treatment of a listed person, and misuse can have legal consequences.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Fayette County Criminal History does not prepare a background check, credit report, or consumer report and is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. Visitors must not use information from this resource or a linked tool to:

  • Make a hiring or firing decision
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Assess credit or set insurance terms
  • Decide eligibility for a license, benefit, permit, or public program
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

An authorized check for a regulated purpose must come from an appropriate official or FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

General explanations about Fayette County records and Pennsylvania procedures are not legal advice. A licensed Pennsylvania attorney should address how a warrant, charge, disposition, expungement, or limited-access rule affects a specific case.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are offered "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • Information will always be accurate, complete, or current
  • Access will be continuous or free from interruption
  • The pages will contain no error, security flaw, or defect
  • A partner's search result will be correct or complete

Records and procedures can change after publication. Verify every fact with the Fayette County or Pennsylvania office that maintains the source record.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

External links lead to government agencies, courts, legal resources, and independent search services. Their operators control content, availability, fees, privacy, and terms. Fayette County Criminal History is not responsible for those services.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless another owner is identified, the text, design, graphics, logo, and code belong to Fayette County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, changing, distributing, or building upon them requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent Pennsylvania law permits, the website and its operators are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the site, reliance on its content, or use of a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend and hold the website and its operators harmless from a claim or demand caused by that visitor's conduct, site use, or violation of these terms, including reasonable related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Pennsylvania law governs these terms. A dispute relating to use of the website must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania criminal-history dissemination is addressed in CHRIA, including 18 Pa.C.S. §9121.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue. The affected provision will be limited only as much as needed.
